Energy saving lamps and LED lights who save more power

Sep. 26, 2020

For some people, choosing a light doesn't matter because it doesn't consume a lot of electricity. Although the power consumption of the luminaire is relatively small compared to other appliances, it consumes a large amount of power during long-term use. The light must be turned on at night. We can't turn on the lights because of saving electricity. All we can do is choose a relatively power-saving lamp. The main lamps on the market are LED lights and energy-saving lamps. Look at the names of the two lights. Some people may think that energy-saving lamps are more energy efficient. Otherwise, why is it called energy saving lamps?

Energy-saving lamps are actually lights that everyone is familiar with. Energy-saving lamps are also called fluorescent lamps. The energy-saving lamp heats the filament mainly through the ballast, and the filament starts to emit electrons (because some electrons are coated on the filament). The ultraviolet light excites the phosphor to emit light under various actions. Since the temperature of the filament when the fluorescent lamp is working is much lower than that of the conventional incandescent lamp, its life is greatly improved. Usually, it can reach more than 5,000 hours because it does not have the same current thermal effect as an incandescent lamp, and the phosphor energy conversion efficiency is also high. Efficiency is naturally high brightness, and more energy efficient, theoretically more than 80% energy saving than traditional lamps, but there are some very poor places.

Such as:

1, because it is a glass product, easy to break, transportation is difficult.

2. The lamp is filled with mercury, which is contaminated with mercury during the production process.

3, whether it is lamps or ballasts are easy to damage, short service life, especially the price of ballast is not cheap, plus labor costs are also very large.

4. Energy-saving lamps are only more energy efficient than traditional incandescent lamps and do not really save energy.

5. If the energy saving lamp is turned on or off, the filament will turn black and decompose rapidly.

LED lights, called LEDs, are solid-state semiconductor devices that convert electrical energy into visible light. LEDs are made up of many visible-light solid-state semiconductors, not filaments, but are directly converted to light energy by semiconductor illumination, saving more power. Compared with other lamps, LED lamps have the following advantages:

1, small size

LEDs are basically very small chips packaged in epoxy, so they are very small, lightweight and easy to transport and install.

2, long service life

Since the LED has no filament, the burnt wire is not faulty and the normal service life is over 50,000 hours, which is impossible for other lamps.

3, energy saving

White LEDs consume only 1/10 of the energy of incandescent lamps, 1/4 of energy-saving lamps, and 16W LED lamps are equivalent to the brightness of 32W energy-saving lamps.

4, can work at high frequency

Compared with LED lights, energy-saving lamps are often turned on or off, and the filaments turn black.

5, no strobe.

Pure DC operation eliminates visual fatigue caused by traditional light sources.

Energy-saving lamps and LED lamps have their own advantages. If you want to save power, it is best to choose LEDs that are more suitable for all occasions.
