Ultra-S 400W LED High Mast Lighting Project in Mexico

A lighting project in Mexico demonstrates the application of Ultra-S 400W LED high mast luminaires for outdoor area illumination. 

Supported by a DIALux lighting simulation, on-site video and positive customer feedback, 

the project brings together a planned optical layout and a view of the installation in operation.

The lighting design addressed two adjacent calculation areas, each measuring 30 × 40 m. 

The objective was to distribute light across both areas while maintaining a balance between average illuminance and uniformity. 

Luminaire positioning, optical selection and aiming were coordinated to suit the layout.

The DIALux design specified 16 luminaires at a mounting height of 9 m, 

combining three optical configurations to distribute light across different parts of the site.

Using several optical configurations allowed the design to address different throw distances and coverage requirements.

 Individually defined aiming points directed the luminaires toward their assigned areas, 

making light distribution a central part of the solution.

The DIALux report calculated the following results for each of the two calculation areas:

The calculated minimum illuminance represents 66% of the average, indicating a balanced distribution within 

each assessed area under the modeled conditions. These figures are simulation results, rather than on-site measurements.

The customer’s night-time video shows the installed pole-mounted floodlights operating across an open outdoor site. 

The ground surface and perimeter are visible in the footage, providing a practical visual record of the lighting installation.

When asked about the lights, the customer replied:

“Very nice”

The response was followed by a 💯 emoji, expressing a positive impression of the installation.

This Mexico project illustrates how Ultra-S 400W luminaires can be combined with a tailored optical layout to support outdoor area lighting. 

The simulation documents the planned performance, while the site video and customer feedback provide evidence of the installation in use 

and the customer’s positive response.
